What Is A RSS Feed And Why Should I Subscribe?
RSS (Really Simple Syndication) is a format for automatically delivering frequently updated web content. News-related sites, blogs, podcasts and other online publishers syndicate their content as an RSS Feed to whoever wants it. An RSS file, which is called a "feed," "web feed," or "channel," contains either a summary of content from an associated web site or the full text.
RSS solves a problem for people who regularly use the web. It allows you to easily stay informed by automatically retrieving the latest content from the websites you are interested in, saving you time by not needing to visit each website individually. You ensure your privacy by not needing to join each website's email newsletter.
RSS content can be read using either desktop or online software called a "RSS reader," "feed reader" or an "aggregator". The user subscribes to a feed by entering the feed's link into their reader or by clicking on a RSS icon in a browser that initiates the subscription process. The reader will check the user's subscribed feeds regularly for new content, downloading any updates.
